We hope that you will plan to visit and tour our facility and meet our instructors before making a commitment to our school year session. Although our rates are competitive with area studios, it is our hope to attract parents who are foremost interested in the quality of dance education a studio offers instead of considering a program based on the lowest tuition rates alone.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Studio Policy Page is very important, and outlines specific policies regarding many aspects of your child’s participation in our program. Please initial each line acknowledging your understanding of our studio policies. Please ask for clarification, or more detailed explanation if needed.

Class assignments will be mailed no later than August 15th. For the fastest notification of important information, please follow us on Facebook (be certain to include us in your Special Interests so that you get valuable and timely notifications without a problem.

A Studio Calendar is posted on our bulletin board throughout the season. Please review it carefully before registering your student. We DO NOT follow the local school systems for holiday closings.

Our annual student recital has been confirmed for Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. with a required dress rehearsal on Friday, June 1.

MSOD adheres to a strict dress code for dance shoes and dance wear. Please do not make ANY purchases for dancewear prior to consulting us regarding adherence to our dress code. We offer a discounted line of dancewear which adheres to our dress code. You will receive information regarding our Fitting Day with your class assignment mailing in August. All students must be in dress code in order to participate in class and must adhere to the code no later than the first class in October.

Due a continuing issue of abuse, MSOD no longer offers a scholarship program, however, an individualized fundraiser has been instituted to assist those wishing to earn classes and/or costumes. Dance wear, registration fee, and recital fee are not assisted by this fund drive. Each student will receive a fundraiser form with their class assignment. Please request a scholarship info sheet if interested.

MSOD presents parents with the opportunity to declare “hard conflicts” prior to the creation of the master studio class schedule. This season we have modified our Scheduling Survey in an attempt to avoid the declaration of mere preference instead of hard conflict. Please fill this form out carefully and respectful of the awesome task of trying to accommodate all parent needs. MSOD will establish a schedule that suits the majority of parent need. If we are unable to accommodate your scheduling need, a full refund will be made.

Students should miss class for illness and family emergencies only. Quality dance education can only occur in a continuous study environment. Enrollment in our program should be as seriously considered as any team sport, and for the full term of the session to which the student is committing. Recreational students may miss a maximum of 6 classes and Conservatory students will be allowed only 3 absences for the session. Education is paramount to all extracurricular activities; however, if your student is unable to manage their study time and required after- school activities around their scheduled dance classes we ask that you not enroll at this time. Students should consider their commitment to dance class BEFORE committing to additional activities that may be in conflict. Please notify the studio if your student will be absent for that days class.

All student class assignments are at the discretion of the director. During the first month of classes each student’s placement will be closely assessed to ensure a level of comfort and challenge. Recommendations for class change will be discussed with parents should they be determined to be in the best interest of the student.

Please read all newsletters, handouts, and bulletin board posts and follow us on FACEBOOK for important information. MSOD prides itself on effective communication with parents and will respond within 24hrs.
